Chet's Corner: 2019 Football Superlatives

It is finally here folk's. I've put a lot of work, thought, effort, and sweat into this and it will not lie, it was really difficult to make some decisions here. But like I said, it is finally here:

The Radnor Rundown 2019 Radnor Football Superlatives

Congratulations to all of our award winners, and to all of our sponsors! It was another historic season for the program that will go down in the record books. So without further adue, here are the winners.

The New Wayne Pizza UNIT of the Year: Daetrel Jerome. Daetrel did whatever he wanted on the field this year. He manhandled opposing defensemen week after week, and that is why he is our UNIT of the year.

The Wayne Sporting Goods Most Likely to Kick the Game-Winning Field Goal: Jack Lindgren. Jack might be the only kicker on the roster, but there is no other Radnor kicker I would trust with the game on the line. Congratulations, Jack.

The Pipeline Taco Coach of the Year: Tom Ryan. I think this goes without saying. Coach Ryan's leadership is just unmatched. He gets the guys FOCUSED and he gets the guys JAZZED up and READY TO GO. THANK YOU COACH RYAN

The Devour Foods™ Assistant Coach of the Year: James Hemwall (Wide Receivers/Tight Ends). Not only did James's position groups have a wildly productive year in 2019, he is also a firefighter and EMT. A hero on and off the field. Thank you, Jame's.

The Au Pain Quotidien  MVP of the Year: Sam DiLella. "Slingin Sammy D" is the only player I think that could win this award, at the end of the day, because he is a gunslinger. You talk about old school foot ball, and you have to mention DiLella. There was even at one point a petition to rename Louella Ave in Wayne DiLella Ave. I think that speaks for itself.

The Bateman-Gallagher American Legion Post 668 Offensive Player of the Year: Jahmir Dixon. Best receiver in all of Delco, hands down. I will die on this hill and I am willing to throw hand's if anybody disagrees. I am like Mark Ingram.

The Club La Maison Defensive Player of the Year: Patrick Boujoukos. Pat demolished guys this year. Some reports said that many (at least 4) of the offensive linemen he matched up against cried after he crushed them. You don't get a player like that very often.

The Honeygrow "Future of the Team" Award: Dominick Laudicina. Big things ahead for this kid, who is primed to fill the large shoes of his older brother Anthony.

The J Dog Junk Removal and Hauling Game of the Year: Radnor vs. Lower Merion. I don't need to elaborate on this.

The J Dog Carpet Cleaning Playoff Game of the Year: Radnor vs. Penn Wood. Hard-fought game by the Raiders that unfortunately didn't fall their way. Fuel for next year.

We are onto basketball season now where the Raiders are off to a LIGHTNING HOT 2-0 start. Big things ahead!

Thank you to Devour Foods for sponsoring this article. Always Ridiculously Good
